Human Nature collaborated with CMTA, Larson Engineering and artist John Isherwood for conceptual design and construction services for the Rock of Truth feature on the University of Cincinnati campus. The design creates a contemplative space to sit within the Sigma Sigma Commons on UCs main campus. A custom granite block seat with a wooden topper continues the form lines of the campus green and faces a large split and opened up boulder inscribed with a passage to inspire and provoke thought. A paving pattern uses granite pavers which radiate from the boulder and include inscriptions and sponsor signatures.
The Rock of Truth is situated within a campus environment and blends harmoniously with existing paths and plantings through use of similar material and colors while standing out as an impactful art feature. The project is a welcoming place for students and campus visitors to reflect and appreciate the campus green.
