Miami 2 Miami Action Plan

CLIENT: Tri-State Trails

LOCATION: Butler & Warren Counties, OH

SCOPE: Action Plan

STATUS: Completed 2018

Human Nature collaborated with Tri-State Trails, AECOM and a stakeholder coalition comprised of 15 municipalities and organizations to connect the tri-state’s two longest multiuse trails, the Little Miami Scenic Trail and Great Miami River Trail through Butler and Warren Counties. This action plan reenergized and provided updates to the 84-mile trail network proposed in the previous 2002 Miami 2 Miami Connection Feasibility Study. The M2M Action Plan outlined a path forward to complete a cohesive multi-use trail connection through the actively growing communities in Butler and Warren Counties. The multi-use trail will connect many local and regional assets (i.e., parks, schools, shopping, employment centers), offering opportunities for trasportation and recreation. Previous transportation and trail studies, regional GIS databases and local knowledge of existing conditions were essential to the analysis and production of public presentation materials. Within 6 months of completion, the action plan was able to leverage $11 million in funding.
