Human Nature collaborated with CT Consultants, the City of Fort Thomas staff, a uniquely structured group of committees, and the public to develop a community plan, the culmination of almost two years of visioning and collaboration. This Community Plan served as an update to both the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Parks & Recreation Plan, while expanding on the process to include unique sections focused on Regional Partnerships and Collaboration, and Implementation & Funding. Early in the process, committees that focused on the six plan chapters (Land Use & Zoning, Parks & Recreation, Transportation & Connectivity, Public Utilities & City Owned Facilities, Regional Collaboration & Partnerships, and Funding & Implementation) were deliberately structured to include an elected official and appointed commission member as co-chairs, city staff and planning team as support, and interested residents, business owners, and representatives from key local and regional stakeholders. Human Nature served as committee advisors and facilitators and provided graphic and community engagement support through the Awareness, Exploration, and Implementation phases. The plan was approved and adopted by the Fort Thomas Planning Commission in December 2018.
