Human Nature collaborated with KZF Design, Rasor, and the City of Florence on a system-wide Parks Master Plan to assist the City in establishing clear and realistic goals, objectives, and implementation strategies for the next ten years (2025 - 2035) to best meet the current and future park and recreation needs of the community. This plan focuses on six of the city’s most active parks and incorporates an inventory and analysis of existing conditions, site and system-wide mapping and graphics, a comparative analysis of neighboring, peer, and best-in-class communities, operations and maintenance analysis, advisory committee and public engagement, exploration of the park system and programmatic improvements for each park, implementation strategy and the final master plan. Site recommendations sought to further enhance the user experience with parking lot improvements, improved circulation and accessibility with paved and natural surface trail networks, enhanced play environments (nature, water, and traditional play), recreational courts/field improvements, skate/bike park enhancements, landscape diversity, and civic gathering spaces.
