Central Parkway Median Enhancement
project description
Human Nature collaborated with KZF Engineering and Park Board Staff to produce an updated vision for the landscape and hardscape treatments in the medians of this major Cincinnati Parkway. The corridor is unique in that it had previously been a canal, and an unfinished subway. The project included identifying overall district opportunities for future work, designing hardscape treatments for the existing medians, analysis of existing trees, designing an irrigation system, and designing a sustainable, low maintenance landscape strategy. The team identified opportunities such as gateways, locations for future public art, and potential interpretive/historical information, and additional planting opportunities on the edges of the streets.
